2008 Grants Workshop

WEATHER UPDATE!
Recreation and Conservation Office Cancels Eastern Washington Grants Workshops


Given the weather forecasts for more snow in the next few days, the Recreation and Conservation Office is cancelling the workshops scheduled for February 5 (Spokane) and February 6 (Yakima). Travel is just too uncertain.

These workshops have been rescheduled at the same facilities, locations, and times on these dates:

  • Wednesday, February 20 – Spokane
  • Thursday, February 21 – Yakima
Click the links above for directions. We hope to see you there.

If you previously signed up for the Spokane or Yakima workshops, we will transfer your registration to the new dates. If you can no longer attend, please contact Patty Dickason by email. You also may continue to register here, but please be sure to read the details below.

 

Purpose
The Recreation and Conservation Office is offering free workshops to help organizations interested in getting grants for outdoor recreation and natural resources development and protection. See the list of available grants, below.

Workshop Topics

  • What types of projects are eligible for grants?
  • What are the elements of a complete grant application?
  • What are the long-term responsibilities if a grant is awarded?
  • Are there planning requirements?
  • What are the accessibility requirements?
  • What new policies will impact the application?
Workshop Dates and Locations
These FREE workshops are identical. They run from 9 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. at these locations:
  • Tuesday, February 5 at Mount Vernon
  • Wednesday, February 6 at Tukwila
  • Thursday, February 7 at Centralia This Workshop is Full - Registration Closed
  • Wednesday, February 20 at Spokane
  • Thursday, February 21 at Yakima
Registration (Closes February 1, 2008)
Register online (links to Survey Monkey). Please complete a registration for each person who will be attending. Register early because seating is limited.

Submitting an Application in PRISM
To submit a grant application, you will need to use PRISM, the agency's FREE online project management program. Please visit our PRISM information and download page. (NOTE: if you are using PRISM 9.2 or earlier, you must install PRISM version 2007.)
