Purpose:
Acquire, develop, and renovate public and private
nonprofit firearm range and archery training and practice
facilities.
Funded Projects and Applications

Eligible Grant Recipients:
- Municipal subdivisions (cities,
towns, counties, and port, park and recreation,
and school districts)
- Private nonprofit organizations
(sport and gun clubs)
- State agencies
To qualify for funding, ranges must be open on a regular
basis to law enforcement personnel, hunter safety education
classes, and the general public. Grant recipients must
provide matching funds in either cash or in-kind contributions.
Eligible Projects:
Acquisition, development and renovation projects,
capital equipment purchase, safety or environmental
improvements, noise abatement, and liability protection.
Priority is given to noise abatement and safety improvement
projects.
Grant Evaluation Process:
Grant applications are evaluated in a competitive
process by a team of firearms and archery representatives.
Revenue Source:
$3 from each concealed pistol license fee.

About the Committee
The Advisory Committee is made up of 10 members that meet several times each year to review and evaluate grant application materials. The committee advises Recreation and Conservation Office (RCO) Director on which projects should receive funding.
