Park Benches

• At least 50 percent of fixed benches must meet accessibility requirements and 40 percent of those must be connected to an accessible the route of travel.
• Benches must have a full-length backrest. At least one must have an armrest.
• Bench seats must be 17-19 inches above the ground.
• Benches must be provided on long routes of travel to elements or accessible facilities.
• Benches need at least one hard, level, clear space, 36 inches wide by 48 inches deep minimum size, on one end. It is preferred to have 36 inches wide by 60 inches deep.
