OLYMPIA - The Interagency Committee for Outdoor Recreation (IAC) is looking for public comments in two workshops on how best to address noise from Off-road Vehicles (ORVs) in both residential and non-residential areas.
At the request of the state Legislature, IAC staff is examining ORV noise regulations and related enforcement around the country. At the workshops, several options for addressing noise, and some benefits of each approach, will be presented. IAC will use the information to develop recommendations to the Legislature on ORV education and training approaches, model city and county ordinances, and other ORV issues.
The workshops will be from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., Oct. 10, in the Lacey Community Center, 6729 Pacific Ave. S.E., Lacey; and Oct. 19 in the Hal Holmes Community Center, 209 N. Ruby St., Ellensburg.
